Retina MacBook Pro 15-inch mid 2012 modded to run Mac OS Ventura smoothly via open core legacy patcher. Incredible performance from an older machine. It runs Logic Pro brilliantly and it even does cloud gaming with no issues. This was a flagship model in 2012 and it still holds up. Comes with a sexy custom Van Gogh Skeleton painting protective case that covers the top and bottom printed ($80 case from Etsy).
The only issues are one dead pixel and the machine must be plugged in as the battery doesn't hold and it has a recent replacement battery.
Additionally, the speakers were replaced a few years ago and sound perfectly fine with no distortion or fuzz. And the internal SSD storage has been upgraded to 500GB. This machine has served me well and I didn't even need to upgrade it since I always have my laptop plugged in. I only upgraded to the new MacBook Pro M2 Pro that just came out because it has HDMI 2.1 for 4K 120Hz for my OLED that I use as an external monitor. This MacBook has HDMI out as well. This laptop has more ports than my new one and arguably a nicer design that set the standard for the decade that followed it. The thin unibody aluminum enclosure feels so right and I prefer the keyboard on this laptop versus my new one which is much flatter, plasticky, and clickity clack. This laptop just feels right and so smooth. I have made so much music on this thing and it has been my instrument for over a decade now. I will miss it for sure and will only sell it if someone is willing to adopt it and treat it with the respect it deserves.
