A power adapter will need to be purchased for the system to be charged and used to its fullest. Be sure that you get the MagSafe (NOT MagSafe 2) power adapter.  The system runs and has the most recent compatible MacOS version installed.

The battery seems to hold a charge and appears to be in good condition, but the actually health of the battery is not known.
