13” 2012 MacBook Pro with 8X DL SuperDrive optical drive, for parts, no longer contains HDD.

This thing was my old reliable warhorse for 10+ years. I bought it in fall of 2012 and as of 2023 it was still going strong. Finally got a new laptop so I took the HDD out of this one as an external drive.

The only part that failed me (routinely) was the power supply cable to the HDD. Apparently this was a very common problem, and after the second failure I started stockpiling the power cables. The power cable in there now works fine but I’ll include an extra one new in the package (not pictured). Also included is the power cord (replaced new in 2018), and an older version of the Magic Mouse that requires AA batteries.
