COREBOOT Thinkpad X230 - i5 - KEYBOARD MODDED - Battery Whitelist - 8GB/240GB.

I am a hobbyist who enjoys modding old Thinkpads.

This is a fully Corebooted Thinkpad X230 (not 1vyrain, but the traditional, SPI-flash method).
I've also performed the EC mod, allowing full functionality for the classic 7-row keyboard (this one is a genuine pull), as well as removing the Battery Whitelist to allow full use of 3rd-party batteries.

ME-Cleaner has been run. The Intel Management Engine is neutered.
For a fair price, you get a maximally portable and Libre machine that still allows you to run Windows, if you would like.
Libreboot has recently been updated to support this model. I have left the stock BIOS ROMs on the computer so the user may install it (or revert) if so desired. It should be possible to flash it internally (no need to open the PC), since Coreboot will allow it. In fact, you could also flash your own Coreboot config internally as well. You can consider it "jailbroken" in that sense, when not using the stock BIOS.

It currently has a Linux Mint Mate installation, the credentials to which will be given to the buyer.
The physical condition of the device is "used - very good". It has some signs of wear (scratches, and could use a trackpad sticker replacement), but for something that's this old, it's in rather excellent shape. What's great is you can simply receive it and start using it the same day.

Help a brother out and buy this machine.
