The iMac "Core i9" 3.6 27-Inch Aluminum (Retina 5K, Early 2019) features a 14-nm "9th Generation" 3.6 GHz Intel "Core i9" processor (I9-9900K) with eight independent processor "cores" on a single chip
This model has a 27" 5120x2880 LED-backlit 16:9 widescreen IPS DCI-P3 "Retina 5K" display. The rear of the case is aluminum and is thicker in the middle and tapers to a razor thin 5 mm at the edges.
Connectivity includes four USB 3.0 ports, dual Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2. It does not have a T2 chip.
Compared to its predecessor this model is very similar externally and internally, but it has a more advanced processor and architecture as well as graphics processor.
This system also supports "Turbo Boost" -- which "automatically increases the speed of the active cores" to improve performance when needed (up to 5.0 GHz for this model) -- and "Hyper Threading" -- which allows the system to recognize sixteen total "cores" or "threads" (eight real and eight virtual).
