I don't know what is wrong with the laptop.  If you know how to fix these you might be able to get past where it stalls.  If I knew how to fix computers I would do everything to keep this as a spare.  I own and use this exact machine every day all day and it is phenomenal.

When I plug the laptop in and press the power button it will start up and then show the apple screen with a progress bar.  As the progress bar moves from the right to the left, the computer's fan starts up and runs at a brisk pace.  It never moves past that point and reaches the home screen.  I have tried to start the computer holding down "COMMAND" and "R" from what I have seen on youtube fix videos to boot machine in recovery mode and it doesn't seem to help.
