A screen comes up that says "Activate Mac" "Select a WI-FI network from the menu or attach a network cable to proceed."
On the top right corner of the screen is a 'Recovery Assistant' drop down that has choices, "About Recovery Assistant" and "Erase Mac."
When I click Erase Mac, it says "If you are unable to unlock this Mac, you can fully erase it and reinstall MacOS. This will delete all media, data and settings on all volumes on this Mac. An internet connection will be required to reactivate this Mac and reinstall MacOS."
The charger shows wear and is frayed, and the cord is yellowing and sticky in some area. The charger works somewhat, but should be replaced(cord), as the frays cause it to not work unless positioned properly. The cord part comes off, so that would be the part that needs replacing only.
