This MacBook Pro served me well for the last year. It is just time for an upgrade. NOTE: the only drawback with this unit has been this...When working on editing video (using more processing power for Final Cut Pro), I would have to keep the ac adapted plugged into a wall power source.  On battery, it would overheat and shut down unexpectedly.  However did not happen with any other application running on battery power.  I was using it for remote audio recording and could use the battery without fear of it shutting down.
