Long story. I tried to reset the laptop to factory settings and I followed some Youtube tutorial (which in the past is often very helpful). I was following the steps, and suddenly, the screen showed the "prohibitory symbol". Something I had never seen.

I googled what this means, and I followed a different Youtuber's instructions, and I was able to re-start it and then I got the symbol again.  So really, I have no idea what is wrong with it.  I have landed at the last screen in the pictures where it says "OS X Yosemite" and it says select the disk you want to install OS X.  But I don't know what to do next.

I have spent a couple of hours, hitting various keys.  I don't know much about hardware.

I believe what I may have done wrong is I try to delete the disk and re-install.

The first few pictures show what the screen showed when it was up and running with no issues, then I did the mistake of trying to reset the laptop to factory settings.  I included the symbol in the pictures and the current screen.

So you may know what I did and can fix it.  This laptop was fully working BEFORE I tried to reset. Current condition - have no idea if it works anymore. Not sure if it's a brick or not.

I have the original box as well as the cords that came with the laptop. I will send it to the winning bidder.

The laptop is in good cosmetic shape. I purchased a more recent MacBook Air to replace this one.
