Macbook Pro 2017 15" i7 3.1GHz 16G Mem 512G SSD.
Have been using it occasionally for personal matters since 2017. Well maintained, very clean throughout the machine. Powerful CPU. Good battery. Perfect crystal clear Retina display. Great for heavy duty programming, graphics design, video editing, etc.
Every thing is perfectly functional except:
1. 1 of the 4 USB-C ports is not usable. Suspecting there is a short circuit on the USB interface board. Cannot charge with it. Cannot plug in usb devices either. It burned a usb microphone before so I never use this port again.
2. The remaining 3 USB ports can be used for charging normally. Sometimes fail to detect usb devices though.
Very likely if you replace the usb interface board, it will become fully functional as normal. I’m just too lazy to take it for repairing since I mostly use my desktop.
If you are a hardware pro, this might be a good fun for you with great resale value. Or if you’re a student looking for a cheap homework laptop, this is a perfect match.
