Battery: I'm getting a "Service Recommended" notice on the battery. It's time to start looking for a new battery but it's not dire just yet. The battery is charging but does tend to drop within a couple of hours of use. Not ideal but swapping the battery is really easy, no soldering required, just remove a few plugs and swap the battery. Take a look at the iFixit page on this for the 7 steps.

This laptop was purchased new, by me, around 2012 and has been hooked up to a second monitor for most of it's life with a closed lid. It's been tested and is working as of today. It's been a real power house that just keeps going. Comes with a black RadTech Screensavrz Apple Laptop Screen Protector Cloth, newly purchased OEM Magsafe Power Cord (Cat destroyed my last one), and the original packaging. I'm only selling because my kids want to play power hungry modern games and I really don't need a laptop for meetings any more. I generally use desktop machines.

It's pretty typical for the screens on these 2012 Macbook Pros to have some ghosting, which this does. Please note that this is normal and I've had Apple check this several times through the years. They have assured me this is nothing to worry about and as is their policy they won't replace a ghosting screen unless it's just a mess. Just be aware of this. I've used it on a separate monitor for most of it's life, only taking it to the occasional meeting or two.
