Late 2013 15.4" MacBook Pro Lower Assembly - i7 2.0Ghz, 8Gb ram, 256Gb SSD, 1.5Gb GPU - NO SCREEN, NO WIFI, NO BLUETOOTH, NO CHARGER.

READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE PURCHASING.

This is a listing for the BOTTOM HALF/LOWER ASSEMBLY of what is otherwise a mostly* fully functional laptop.

I purchased this as part of a lot from a local surplus sale, with the intent to repair and resell what I could, and discard what I couldn't. After repairing and refurbishing all of the MacBooks that I had the parts to put back into functional order, this unit alone was left without a functional screen. That said, I know that there are people who can still find creative uses for these half-MacBooks, so I've decided to sell it as-is.

The goodThis unit boots up and functions as you would expect when using an external monitor via either of the Thunderbolt Displayport outputs or the single HDMI output. They keyboard still feels like new and the trackpad feels great, no weird clicking issues or sticky keys or anything of the sort. Very minimal use and no indications of misuse or abuse there. The battery is still capable of charging up to 87% of its full capacity.

The bad: Well, obviously it doesn't have a screen, so you have a decision to make-
1. You could use an external monitor or TV that you already own.
2. You could purchase a 2013-14 retina screen from another parts seller on eBay and attach it yourself, making the laptop whole again.
3. You could hide this in a server rack 'as-is' and forget about it, using it to control your own DIY local area network storage server, and only ever access it remotely via Terminal, VPN, or Share Screen.

The ugly: Because the Wifi, Bluetooth, and camera connections are wired antenna connections that are stamped into the monitor and aren't removable from said monitor, you won't have much success using Wifi, Bluetooth, or a camera, until you either go through with step 2 above, or find suitable workarounds that work for you. E.g., usb wifi/bluetooth dongles are a thing, but there are only two USB ports. Also, the gigabit thunderbolt to ethernet adaptor would be a fine choice for a wired connection, but then you only have one more Thunderbolt connection for your other peripherals. These are the decisions you will need to consider before purchasing this "Apple HalfBook."

Think of it like a "choose your own adventure" novel.

Details for this specific 1.5 GB "Integrated Graphics" model system can be found here: https://everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook_pro/specs/macbook-pro-core-i7-2.0-15-iris-only-late-2013-retina-display-specs.html

Other fun stuff: A/C charger NOT included and will have to be sourced elsewhere. Bottom plate only has four screws. I will include the six hinge screws and the other misc hinge parts required to reattach a screen if you purchase one elsewhere and want to make this MacBook whole again.
