Mid 2017 13.3" Apple MacBook Pro - A1708 - 2.3GHz, 8GB - Water Damage READ.

This is a FOR-PARTS/NOT-WORKING-PROPERLY listing. 

I purchased this as part of a lot from a local surplus sale. It is in nearly perfect outward appearing condition though the keyboard shows some shiny keys, but on closer inspection one of the water damage indicators on the logic board has turned red near the thunderbolt/power ports. See photos. There was some mild green oxidation/corrosion around several of the components in this area which I did a very surface level clean on with IPA and Q-Tips in an attempt to get the unit functioning again. 

The good news: After cleaning these components with IPA and spraying DeOxit D5 into the Thunderbolt ports, I was able to charge the battery exactly once, but had to have the laptop on its side with the power cable hanging in one very particular way for the cable to even register the electrical connection. The MacBook was running a fresh install of Big Sur with a generic username and password and I was able to snap a photo of the system specs. However, I missed the storage section, and as such I have no idea how much storage this MacBook has. I was also able to notice some minor screen backlight burn-in (??) issues that may have indicated someone pressed too hard with their finger in a few places, but otherwise the screen is/was perfectly useable and shows minimal signs of scratching.

The bad news: The battery is again dead, and I can't get it to charge again no matter how many different ways I try to insert the cable. I assume this has something to do with the water damage, but for the sake of this sale I am listing this MacBook as BROKEN/FOR-PARTS.

With all of that out of the way, I chose not to attempt to repair this macbook any further, and am listing it here for someone else who might know what to do with it.
